William Pak
English Congregation Lead Pastor

Pastor William joined the community at Lakeview Covenant Church on March 1st of 2016 as the English Congregation Lead Pastor.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, he received his education at the University of Toronto (Hon. B.A. 1996), Tyndale Seminary (M.Div. 1999), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (ThM. 2002, PhD 2012). In his passion of preaching and teaching God’s Word, his desire is to be used by God to raise up passionate, Spirit-filled, missional leaders for Christ. Pastor William enjoys cooking, discussing theology, tiling floors and walls, and spending time with the family. He is happily married to his wife Julie, and they have three children, David, Charis, and Elianah.

Joshua Kang
Korean Congregation Lead Pastor

Joshua has been serving at Lakeview since 1996.  He previously served at an English Ministry of a Korean church and as a youth pastor on the West Coast prior to moving to Chicago. After graduating from UC Berkeley, he went on to receive his M.Div and Th.M. (in Leadership) from Fuller Theological Seminary, and has completed coursework at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for his D.Min.

Joshua is the happy husband of Lanna, and the delighted father of Christy and Timothy.  In his free time, you can find him riding his bike, traveling, and hanging out with his family and friends most likely at a buffet restaurant. After all these years of ministry experience, his greatest joys are seeing people saved and transformed, experiencing God’s glory and presence, and doing life in a loving community.

Joshua Lee
College Pastor

Joshua (or Josh) began serving as the College Pastor in August 2017. He was born in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to Toronto when he was 8. He found his way to the Chicagoland area when he attended Northwestern University for his undergrad, starting as an ambitious pre-med student but receiving the call to ministry throughout as he underwent major spiritual transformation. Since graduating, he began attending Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for his Master of Divinity.

Josh has attended Lakeview since freshman year of undergrad, and has served in various capacities such as College Small Group Leader, Worship Leader and Life Group Leader. He is passionate about walking alongside people on their journey of knowing and loving God and people. He also enjoys music, relaxing on the NU Lakefill, and finding new food in Chicago.

Sam Lee

In the fall of 2015, Samuel Lee joined the staff of Lakeview Covenant Church as the youth group pastor. After graduating undergrad at University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign as a Biochemistry major, he began to work in industrial research. He is currently working at Abbott Laboratories as a scientist while attending Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for his Master’s of Divinity degree.

Jenny Chang

Jenny joined the Lakeview staff January, 2017. After receiving her elementary education degree from Wheaton College, she taught 7 years in the Chicago Public Schools. She furthered her education receiving a Masters in Special Ed and Educational Leadership, both from Northeastern Illinois University. Her passion is to equip families to worship God together here and to eternity, and helping kids reach their educational goals so that they will be leaders. Jenny is also the president of Monster Education Foundation which serves Chicago’s inner city by creating college savings accounts and empowering teen leaders, and a director of More Than Scores and Tests, a college-consulting company based in Buffalo Grove. You can often find Jenny working on 1000 piece puzzles (sometimes even finishing them), “Dancing” with her kids on the Playstation, and eating chocolate.

Mark Vang
Worship Director
Mark has been part of Lakeview Church since November, 2018. He is a Hmong-American  born in Providence, Rhode Island and has since then lived in Minnesota, New York, and Wisconsin. In the Fall of 2015, Mark was accepted into Moody Bible Institute and is now currently studying Communications. Since he was in Kindergarten, Mark has always wanted to serve the Lord with his life. He began learning music at the age of 5 and has been serving in the Worship Ministry for over 10 years. Mark desires to create music that will edify the Church, outreach the Gospel to unbelievers and make the name of Jesus known. Mark loves watching football, eating out, playing sports, keeping up with the latest tech, and watching food shows on Youtube. But ultimately, he loves being involved with people who he can learn and grow with in Christ.
