The priority of
"Making Disciples of ALL NATIONS" is at the center of God's heart and should be for every follower of Christ.
- Lakeview's global missions vision started many years ago when we sent short-term missions teams to multiple countries. Although the missions team members benefited greatly from these trips, Lakeview learned that it was not making long lasting ministry, kingdom impact in the countries since we were only going for 1 or 2 weeks a year.
- We began to to send short-term teams to one country with the purpose of working towards a long-term ministry impact. Our vision was to eventually plant a church to reach young professionals so they would carry on the ongoing missions work established. In 2005, we planted our first overseas daughter church called Vida Visible in Nicaragua. Since then, the church has multiplied and planted a second campus. Vida Visible also have a heart to plant churches in other South American countries as well.
- More recently Lakeview has sent teams to Japan and to East Asia with the hope of partnering with missionaries and church leaders to help plant urban churches. Our strategy is to send short-term teams to support the local ministries with the intention of working towards planting churches in metropolitan cities to reach young professionals who can continue the missions work that was started.
- Lakeview's approach is centered around mobilizing its church members to go and serve with whatever ministry experience they may have. We believe this strategy empowers the local Christians to take ownership to spread the gospel in their own country and beyond.
- The missions process for members of Lakeview is learning, going, serving, modeling, empowering, training, planting, supporting and growing so that others in the target country can do the same. Ultimately, God gets the glory for joining Him in His global kingdom work.
